Happy All Saints Day Eve! If you’re reading this, you might be like me and need a simple, last-minute All Saints Day Craft. This one is my go-to every year.
My kids love All Souls Day, but we haven’t really delved into All Saints Day very deeply. They have their favorite saints though, and so tomorrow I want us to dig into the idea that the saints are our family in Heaven- that in Heaven they know and love and enjoy time with each other. I think that Heaven can be such an abstract concept, but talking about it as full of people they can look forward to meeting is something that will spark their imaginations.
I’ve made a couple tweaks to this cloud craft from Catholic Icing to make it even easier for myself (and hopefully you too).
Here’s my plan:
To start with here’s a pdf I created. (As a note, this is an update from the original). It has several options for a heavenly background. This will be the base of our project. It prints on 8.5 x 11 paper, simple as pie. I’ll be printing out on card stock because we’ll be gluing onto it, but regular paper should work just fine.
Next, we’ll be using these printable saint cards from Aleesa over at My Little Patron. The saints are delightfully drawn and oh so cute (and also a win for being print and go!). For this project we’ll be printing and then cutting out the images on the cards, so that the kids can then glue their favorite family members into Heaven. I know that G is going to want Jacinta and Francisco Marto and that William will be so excited to have St. George on his!
I’m also printing a second set for the kids to have and play with for All Saints Day. G is hooked on holy cards, and these will be a perfect edition to her ever-growing collection, which is bursting out of its basket in the kids’ prayer corner.
If you’ve got a preschool class or need last minute All Saints Day Decorations (or just want to deck out the breakfast table in the morning!), check out the All Saints Day Party Pack. Bonus: All of the food ideas are simple, and you probably have the left over Halloween candy to make it work without going to the store!
And, Aleesa is generously offering a 20% off coupon to Elevator to Heaven readers, so use code SAVE20 when you check out! Not gonna lie- I drool over her stuff.
Update: Now that I’ve got an older crew of kids, I made a super quick saint report for them to complete. I have them pick a favorite saint (and I try to encourage them to find a new heavenly friend each year) to learn about and then they share with each other. It’s a fun way to expand their understanding of the Communion of Saints. You can snag the report template here.
Yes! This isi adorable and perfect! Thank you for linking to the original craft. So cute!!!
So glad you liked it!
