Our family is on vacation in Telluride, CO with the whole Pressprich gang this week, and while everyone is resting up after a full day of skiing (not me, what with my busted shoulder), I thought I’d throw up some quick photo takes about our week so far.
We had a particularly rough start to our week, with the diaper being left behind. In it were key components to peaceful travels with kids, including but not limited to diapers, wipes, snacks, comfort items, and a tablet with lots of Wild Kratts downloaded. Let me tell you, the first leg of our flight (Detroit-Dallas) was ROUGH.
Fun fact: it is near impossible to find diapers in an airport. Buuuuut if you can find one, the Dallas-Fort Worth airport does have nursing rooms, which are stocked with diapers of all sizes. Why they don’t publicize that, I don’t understand. (Hint: There’s one at gate B41)
A big thank you is owed to my amazing Mom who overnighted all of the important items.
Another big thank you to Dad P, who graciously lent his grandkids his ipad, allowing the big kids to watch Wild Kratts. Thankfully Charlotte konked out on the second leg too, so we had a peaceful flight.
The big 2 have gotten to go to ski school this week. William is having the time of his life. Little kid ski school seems to be primarily playing and hot chocolate with a tiny bit of actual skiing thrown in.
G is proving to be a natural at skiing, which isn’t surprising, but is having less fun as her ski school was much heavier on the skiing.
G and Mark took the morning off from skiing, and joined Charlotte and I, along with Mark’s Mom and our niece, for a gondola ride down into Telluride proper to explore. The views are gorgeous, and photos definitely don’t do them justice.
Fun Fact: The altitude change is crazy even just between the Mountain Village and the town. My ears popped on the way up and the way down.
After a trip to the town’s public library (which has an incredible children’s room), and a walk around town, we had lunch at The Brown Dog. The pizza was incredible. As you can see from above, Charlotte is living her best life.
We’ve got 2 days left before we head home on Sunday. The kids’ cousins have all arrived now, so they are beyond excited to have time with them before we leave. And as always, the Funcles (Mark’s younger brothers) are the absolute best, and clearly the preferred companions, which this Mom does not mind.
Linking up with Kelly this week, so head over to read the rest of the 7Qts, and make sure that you congratulate her on 8 years of blogging!
Vacation update since I wrote this yesterday: G and Mark’s brother both are running fevers, sooooooooo that’s going to add to the fun the next couple days. Please say some prayers that this is a quick and easy to fight virus, and that it doesn’t spread to the rest of the family.
